The Terra from Superwinch is stronger than any 4500lbs winch should be. The reason? Superwinch rates their winches at working load rather than stall point - this means your Terra will still be pulling well after the others have ground to a halt. The result is a winch that pulls faster, with less amp draw and that's before you even look at the price.

 

All Terra winches come standard with a steel drum specifically designed to withstand the rigors of synthetic rope (a Superwinch Exclusive) and are available with either galvanized wire rope with a 4-way roller fairlead or Blue AmSteel Dyneema SK-75 synthetic rope (yellow in color and rated at 7,700 lbs the competitions synthetic rope is only rated at 4,000 lbs at best) and attached to a heavy-duty clevis pinned latched hook. The synthetic rope models include a blue anodized aluminum hawse engraved with the Superwinch logo. 

 

The heavy duty permanent magnet motor includes larger diameter wire within the winding (nearly twice as thick as the competition) and sealed bearings at both ends of the motor (the competition only uses one bearing and a cheap bushing on the opposite end). The highest horsepower/torque and lowest amperage draw in the industry, pulls more weight longer and faster in deep mud and water, and puts the least amount of drain on the battery. More on Superwinch Terra motors here.

 

This is the industry's first truly sealed ATV winch assembly. All seals on the entire winch, from the outermost end of the motor to the ergonomic Free-Spooling control knob, exceed the IP67 rating. Even the handlebar-mounted rocker switch, the 10 hand-held remote, and the solenoid are sealed to meet tough standards, which ensures water, mud, snow, and dust is kept out. You're vehicle may require a Mount Kit, the Mount Kit is a specialized bracket that connects the winch to your specific ATV. Please see chart for reference.

 NOTE: The Terra 45 may not fit winch plates designed for ATVs because of the wide footprint.  Superwinch is reviewing this fitment issue and as a result, we recommend a Terra 35 unless you can handle mounting challenges.  :-)
